High-definition Seafloor Video and Water Parameter Collection

Osedax has the ability to record video of marine and freshwater environments with a drop camera. A pair of bright and wide-angle LED lights illuminate the environment in the camera’s field of view. Scale lasers are attached to the unit, and can be adjusted for distance between the points. There is also an Ultraviolet laser which fluoresces on certain biological organisms, as well as hydrocarbons. Towing this unit is possible to record more coverage of the seafloor.

Along with the drop camera, a Hydrolab Probe can be added to record several parameters. These include dissolved oxygen, salinity, pH, temperature and depth.

This equipment is deployed using our lightweight and transportable winch, to a maximum depth of 70 meters (230 feet).

Our research vessel Voodoo Child II is perfectly suited for these endevours. For jobs the do not require deeper casts, we also have a hand line. The hand line can be used to depths of 31 meters (100 feet). On the hand line, the drop camera, one LED light, and Hydrolab Probe can be run.
