Cabezon is the second vessel of the Osedax fleet. Dive teams are able to mobilized with their equipment for day trips with this vessel. It is 18′ (5.5m) long and has an 8′ (2.4m) beam. This wide beam provides a stable and safe working platform in all weather. There are several gear storage areas forward and aft. A dive ladder is located midship on the port side for diver access, and a self-bailing deck ensures water is efficiently cleared away.
Being on a trailer allows Cabezon to efficiently access all regions of Vancouver Island and the mainland coast for quick deployments.
The skiff is powered by a reliable Suzuki 140 HP outboard, with a Yamaha 8 HP kicker as backup. There is a float-free EPIRB on the roof for emergency deployment.
